Bed and Breakfast Accommodation
Hi I’m Rae, my husband and I own Acacia Cottage and we have lived here for three years, during which time we have made extensive improvements to the house and garden with a view to giving guests a memorable visit. I love cooking and experimenting with healthy, international recipes and can offer a variety of exciting, plant based meals. Breakfast is included in the price and other meals are optional. Alternatively you can dine at one of the many cafes and restaurants close by.
There are a variety of Takeaway foods and restaurants with different cuisines including Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Italian, Spanish Tapas and French.
You can stay at Acacia Cottage for accommodation only or take advantage of our other services, as listed below:
Airport pick up/drop off, outings to places of interest
This is my husband Richard. If required, he can arrange pick up from Perth International Airport for interstate and overseas visitors.
He enjoys driving and showing visitors around the magnificent hills area and coastal regions of the Perth district.
Some local tourist attractions include: Kalamunda History Village, Lesmurdie Falls, Perth Observatory and Museum, Bickley Valley Wine Trail and Scenic Drive, Kanyana Wildlife Park.
Coastal regions and the Swan River can be reached by car within 45 minutes.
English Lessons
I am a university trained ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher with many years’ experience, teaching all levels of English.
My qualifications include:
- Bachelor of Arts degree in English
- Graduate Diploma in Education
- Graduate Certificate in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages)
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
I offer lessons for visitors (no upper age limit), who want to improve their English conversation/pronunciation skills. Modules offered are Getting to Know You, Travelling, At Work, Shopping, Going Out, Telephoning/Emails/Texts. Other English language requirements can be catered for. A Certificate of Achievement will be given for completed modules.

When I think of Rae, I always remember her warm and gentle smile. Rae, having abundant experience of teaching, was a very passionate teacher.
